Kweku Darlington – Every Ex Is Expired

Kweku Darlington leaves the past behind on Every Ex Is Expired, a bold, entertaining Afrobeats record about self-worth, growth and refusing to go back. The Ghanaian singer and songwriter has a gift for relatable, humorous hooks, and this one, a declaration that every former partner has passed their expiry date, has become a catchphrase.

The production is bright and bouncy, with highlife guitar over an Afrobeats groove, and the official video on his channel plays up the fun. A lyrics video is also available.

What Every Ex Is Expired is about

The song is a goodbye with a smile. Kweku Darlington sings about the exes who want to come back now that things are going well, the lessons they taught him and the firm decision that none of them will get a second chance, and the hook turns the message into a chant. It is heartbreak music for people who have finished grieving, and the humour makes it easy to share. The official video matches the mood with colour and comedy.

Why the song connects

Everyone has an ex, and the song has given Ghanaians a new way to talk about them. The phrase has turned up in captions, memes and radio banter, and the record has done well on social media alongside Kweku Darlington’s 2026 releases “Dance With You”, “For Better Or Worse” with Naja Fairy and “Grateful To Your Ex”, all on GhanaSongs.com. Heard together, the ex-themed records show a songwriter who has found a lane and knows how to work it.

For new listeners, it is the most fun introduction to his music.

The official video has added to the song’s reach, with its comic treatment of the exes who come calling earning shares of its own.
