Kwaku DMC Ft Beeztrap KOTM – Go Home

Kwaku DMC and Beeztrap KOTM deliver a message about focus and self-respect on Go Home, a compelling track from their joint album Happy Place. The song blends modern drill with confident rap flows, and the two Kumasi artistes use it to tell the time-wasters, the hangers-on and the distractions exactly where to go.

The production is dark and steady, with a melodic loop over hard drums, and the hook is a blunt instruction that has become a caption among their fans. The official audio is on Kwaku DMC’s channel.

What Go Home is about

Go Home is about boundaries. The verses deal with people who overstay their welcome, friends who bring nothing but noise and the discipline it takes to protect your space and your focus, and the hook is the dismissal set to music. Kwaku DMC delivers his lines with calm authority, Beeztrap adds the punchlines, and the song manages to be both a warning and a party record.

Go Home on the Happy Place album

On an album that spends much of its time celebrating arrival, Go Home is the track where the two rappers lock the gate behind them. Kwaku DMC opens in his usual unhurried way, almost bored by the people he is sending away, and that coolness is what makes the song bite. Beeztrap answers with a denser verse, packed with Twi wordplay that rewards anyone who rewinds it. Neither of them shouts, and the restraint suits a song about not wasting energy on people who do not deserve it.

The record also shows how the Asakaa sound has grown up. The early Kumasi drill songs were about proving a point to the whole country. Here, two men who have already made that point are more interested in protecting what they have built, and the lyrics are written from that position. Played in order with the rest of Happy Place, it is the moment the mood turns from celebration to self-protection.
