A rapper who has spent the whole of 2026 putting out music at a steady pace now closes October with a new visual, and Kweku Smoke Set It Straight is the one fans are talking about this week. The official music video went up on his YouTube channel on 30 October 2026.
Purple Child Creations directed the video. The Ghanaian rapper and songwriter has leaned on strong visuals for several of his recent singles, and this one continues that habit with a full, properly produced music video rather than a lyric clip or an audio visualiser.
The upload is the official one, on Kweku Smoke’s own channel, so that is where fans should go to watch Kweku Smoke Set It Straight. No Days Off, his current project, can be streamed through the link he shares under the video. Anyone who has followed his run this year will know the name already.
The video is a new official release, not a freestyle or a live clip. For a rapper who built his name on bars and personal storytelling, a polished video gives a new song a face and a mood, and fans can now judge for themselves how the visual matches the record.
The song’s tone is best left to each listener to decide, because every fan hears Kweku Smoke a little differently. Some come for the weight in his delivery, others for the way he moves between Twi and English. Either way, the single arrives at a moment when his name is already well known across Ghana.
Kweku Smoke Set It Straight and a busy autumn
The video does not land in a quiet period. Kweku Smoke has been uploading regularly since early September, and the list reads like a rapper who wants to keep his name in front of people.
On 4 September he put out three audio visualisers on the same day, for Okwantunii, Halleluyah and Soul Healer. Releasing three tracks at once gave fans a lot to take in, and it showed he was thinking of the music as a body of work and not a single song.
Bombele followed on 23 September as an official music video. Then came Mmereniho on 2 October, a collaboration with Dikoo, and a fresh Okwantunii upload on 9 October. Okwantunii has now appeared twice on the channel, so fans have had two ways to hear it.
Set It Straight arrives three weeks after that, and about five weeks after Bombele. It is his latest in an unbroken run of releases across roughly eight weeks.
That pace matches the numbers his music has been posting. We reported earlier that Kweku Smoke took 13 spots on the Apple Music Ghana Top 20 as No Days Off kept running. A rapper with that kind of presence on the charts can release a video and expect an audience to be waiting.
For newer readers, a little background helps. Kweku Smoke was born Paul Amankwah. He went to Victory International School for his basic education, then Benkum Senior High School, and later studied at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi. Early in his career he released freestyles under the name YRS.
His wider breakthrough came in 2019, when a studio introduction led to a meeting with Sarkodie. The two worked together on Yedin, and the song brought him to a much bigger public. The pairing has continued since, and fans can also revisit Major League with Sarkodie on our site.
On 8 March 2024 he released the album Kweku Jesus. It sold well soon after release and reached number one on iTunes in Ghana. Later that year he followed it with Born In Hell, a ten-track project that is more introspective and looks closely at personal hardship and growth.
On 18 December 2024 he headlined a concert called The Revival at GHUD Park, near Accra Mall. Other Ghanaian artists joined him on stage, and he performed some of his best-known songs for the crowd.
The awards followed the music. At the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards he won Best Rap Performance for Holy Ghost, which confirmed that the industry was paying attention as well as the streaming audience.
Seen against that history, Kweku Smoke Set It Straight is another step in a career that has moved quickly from freestyle sessions to headline shows. The video adds a new visual chapter to a year that has already been full, and it gives his fans one more reason to stay close to his channel.
He has also shown a willingness to work with other voices when a song calls for it. Mmereniho with Dikoo is a recent example, and fans who enjoy his solo records may want to hear it too. Another is Faith with Lasmid, which is also on our site.
Set It Straight itself is a solo outing, so the spotlight stays on Kweku Smoke from start to finish. That suits a rapper whose appeal rests so much on his own voice and his own way of telling a story.
Fans who want the full picture of his autumn can work through the channel from the three September visualisers onward, then finish with the new video. The official music video for Kweku Smoke Set It Straight is on YouTube now. Watch it, stream No Days Off through the link on his channel, and tell us in the comments what you make of the new single. If it speaks to you, share it with a friend who has been waiting for the next Kweku Smoke release.
