Gyakie Your Body (Crazy) arrives on 16 October 2026 as a new single with an official music video, and it lands at the end of a year in which the Kumasi-raised singer has hardly left the release calendar. After a string of visualisers and a collaboration, this is the first full music video from her in some months, and it deserves a proper look.
The video for Gyakie Your Body is on Gyakie’s official YouTube channel, uploaded on the same day the song came out. The single is released under the FLIP THE MUSIC label, with distribution by Africori. Streaming links sit with the video on YouTube, so fans who prefer to listen on their usual platform can find the audio from there.
A lyric video for the song went up on the channel on the same day. That gives listeners two ways in. One is the full visual treatment, and the other is a simpler version for anyone who wants to follow the words while the song plays. It is a sensible way to launch a single, because different fans watch and listen in very different ways, and a lot of Ghanaians still hear a new song first on a phone with limited data.
The full title is Your Body (Crazy), and the bracketed word matters, because people tend to search for the song in several forms. Some type the short name, some add the bracket, and some spell it their own way. Whichever way you search, the song is the same one, and the official upload is the place to start.
In sound, Gyakie Your Body sits in Afrobeats territory, which suits her well. She has long moved between R&B, afro-fusion and the lighter, danceable end of the Ghanaian pop spectrum, and her voice carries a calm that makes even an upbeat record feel unhurried. To my ear, that calm is the quality that has made her easy to recognise on the radio since her first releases.
Gyakie Your Body follows a busy year of releases
To understand where this single sits, it helps to look at the past twelve months on her channel. In October 2025 she put out the official music video for fire on the mountain. In January 2026 she teamed up with Kojey Radical for party galore, which came with a visualiser.
April brought want it, also with a visualiser. In June she appeared on Call Me, a lyric video release shared with KJ Spio, Mavo, Ronaldinho Gaúcho and Tu Musica. That is a crowded line-up, and it shows how widely her name travels.
In July she followed with TREASURE, another visualiser. Readers who want to hear more of her work on this site can also revisit our earlier post on Gyakie’s Treasure, which sits well beside the new release.
Seen in that order, the year has a clear rhythm. Gyakie has kept a steady flow of songs in front of her audience, mostly with lighter visual formats, and has saved the full music video for moments she wants to mark. The last official music video in that run was fire on the mountain a year ago, so the arrival of a new one for Your Body (Crazy) says something about how much weight she puts on this song.
That kind of pacing is not an accident. Many artists in Ghana now release in smaller pieces, keeping fans engaged between larger projects, and Gyakie has handled it with more patience than most. She has not rushed to fill every week with noise. Each release has had its own space.
Her story is also worth recalling, because it explains the calm in her work. Born Jackline Acheampong on 16 December 1999, she grew up in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. She attended T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School in the city and went on to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where she studied International Business.
Music was in the house from the start. Gyakie comes from a family of musicians, and by the age of eight she was already joining her father, Nana Acheampong, in the studio. She has named Aṣa and Omar Sterling of R2Bees among her influences, and you can hear a little of that blend of warmth and restraint in the way she sings.
Her debut single, Love Is Pretty, came in 2019 and was followed by Never Like This. The breakthrough came in August 2020, when Forever, from her five-track EP Seed, received heavy airplay and led the charts in Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria. Many fans still think of Forever as the song that introduced her to a wider audience, and the nickname Song Bird has stayed with her since.
She has also been open about how hard the early days were. In a BBC Africa interview with DJ Edu, she said she was often in tears when she began commercial music, because her management was set on getting results. It is a useful reminder that the ease in her voice was not handed to her. She has had to learn how to protect it.
That background gives Your Body (Crazy) some context. It comes from an artist who has been through the pressure of a fast start, who has since settled into her own timing, and who now releases music with a team around her at FLIP THE MUSIC. Whether the song becomes one of her signature records is for listeners to decide, and the next few weeks of streams, shares and radio spins will tell that story.
For now, the video is live and free to watch on YouTube. Watch it, then stream Gyakie Your Body on your preferred platform and tell us what you think of it after the visualisers. Share your thoughts in the comments and pass the video on to a friend who has been asking for new Gyakie music.
