Rigiid Ft Reggie x Lasmid x Skyface SDW x Beeztrap KOTM – Julie

Rigiid has gathered a Kumasi all-star line-up for Julie, bringing Reggie, Lasmid, Skyface SDW and Beeztrap KOTM onto one energetic record. Five voices, one beat and a song addressed to a woman named Julie who has every one of them talking, and the result is one of the liveliest Asakaa-flavoured collaborations of the year.

Lasmid supplies the melodic hook, Reggie, Skyface SDW and Beeztrap bring three distinct rap styles and Rigiid anchors the whole thing. The production blends drill drums with an Afrobeats bounce, and the official visualiser is on Rigiid’s channel.

What Julie is about

Julie is a praise song with a street edge. Each artiste takes a turn describing what Julie does to him, from Reggie’s emotional honesty to Skyface SDW’s high energy and Beeztrap’s sharp punchlines, and Lasmid’s chorus ties it together with a melody that sticks after one listen. With five names on the record the structure is simple, with short verses and a hook that comes around often, and the energy never drops.

About Rigiid

Rigiid is a Ghanaian rapper working in the street rap and trap space, known for gritty verses and collaborations with the Kumasi scene. His earlier record “Ghetto” with Lasmid, whose lyrics are on GhanaSongs.com, introduced him to many listeners, and Julie is his most ambitious release so far.

About the featured artistes

Reggie, Skyface SDW and Beeztrap KOTM are all leading figures of the Kumasi rap wave, with Reggie known for drill with feeling, Skyface SDW for raw energy and Beeztrap for dense Twi wordplay. Lasmid, the MTN Hitmaker Season 8 winner from Takoradi, broke through with “Friday Night” in 2022, won Best New Artist at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and has become the most requested hook writer in Ghana.

Why the song works

Posse cuts can feel crowded, but Julie gives each voice a clear role and keeps the song tight. The Lasmid hook gives it radio reach, the Kumasi verses give it street credibility and the shared subject keeps everyone on the same page. It has found a home at parties and on playlists across the Ashanti Region and beyond.
