Other gospel names to know

Some big names fall just outside the top 20 on YouTube. Obaapa Christy (12.7 million views), Akesse Brempong (12.0 million) and Ernest Opoku Jnr (9.8 million) were close. Obaapa Christy only opened her current channel in 2024, so many of her older hits sit on other uploads. Long-serving acts such as the Tagoe Sisters, Cwesi Oteng and Uncle Ato built their names long before YouTube, so channel views do not fully show how much their songs mean to Ghanaian Christians.

How we ranked the musicians

We looked up the official YouTube channel of each artiste using the YouTube Data API, and took their total channel views and subscribers on 1 November 2026. We only counted the artiste’s own channel, not fan uploads or lyric channels. Musicians whose channels are new, or whose older songs were uploaded by others, may rank lower than their real popularity. We will update this list as the numbers change.
