Kuami Eugene Ajei arrived on 22 October 2026, and it landed at a point when the singer’s YouTube channel had already carried six other new uploads in the space of a year. The song comes with an official fun video, and it is available to watch on his channel now.

The release goes out under Clear Road Music Records, with ONErpm handling the distribution. That puts Ajei in the same release pattern as the rest of his recent work, steady and regular, with a new piece of music arriving every few weeks or months rather than one big drop a year.

Ajei is a solo record. Kuami Eugene is the only artist on it, so this one belongs to him from start to finish. The sound sits in the Afrobeats lane, and the track moves between Twi and English, the kind of switch that Ghanaian listeners will recognise from the way many of us actually speak and text. It is a natural fit for a singer who has long blended Highlife melody with a more modern, club-ready pulse.

The word fun in the video’s name is worth a moment. Kuami Eugene has made a lot of serious, tender music in his career, and the stronger ballads are what many fans first think of when they hear his name. My own reaction is that a visual labelled as a fun video points to something looser and more playful, and it gives the audience a different side of him to watch. Viewers can judge for themselves how far that goes once they have seen it through.

For anyone who prefers to listen rather than watch, the song can also be streamed through ONErpm’s streaming link, so it can sit on a playlist next to his earlier singles. People searching for the Ajei audio will find it there, and the video on YouTube remains the main place to see the full release.

Where Kuami Eugene Ajei fits in his 2026 run

This year has been a busy one for him, and his official channel shows the full run. Instagram, an official music video, came on 24 October 2025. Scatter followed on 28 February 2026, also with an official music video.

In May he turned to a collaboration. Stranger, with Gyakie, came out as a visualiser on 7 May 2026. It paired two of the best-known voices of their generation in Ghanaian pop, and it gave listeners a gentler counterweight to his more upbeat material.

The summer then brought two videos close together. Makola arrived on 11 July 2026 and I’m Hurt on 23 July 2026, both as official music videos. The first shares its name with one of Accra’s best-known markets, and the second reads as a more personal title. Releasing the pair within twelve days of each other showed how quickly he can move in a single season.

On 27 August 2026 he released We Go, another official music video. We covered that song when it came out, and you can read our earlier post on We Go if you want to place it beside this new release. Ajei arrives roughly two months after that, so the gap between his last two videos is longer than the one between Makola and I’m Hurt, but the flow of new music has not stopped.

Taken together, these releases show an artist who prefers to stay visible and keep his audience supplied. In a market where attention moves quickly and new songs are released every week, regular output is a strategy as much as a habit. Ajei adds another chapter to that run and does it with a video made to be enjoyed and shared.

Kuami Eugene Ajei also arrives at a moment when listeners are paying close attention to how Ghanaian artists present themselves visually. A video is no longer a simple companion to a song. It is often the first thing people see, and it travels fast through TikTok, Instagram and WhatsApp status updates. A fun video is well suited to that kind of sharing.

The singer himself is Eugene Kwame Marfo, born on 1 February 1997. He is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter and record producer who works in Highlife and Afrobeats. He was born in Akim Oda to Alex and Juliana Marfo, and music was part of his life early. He sang in church from a young age and learned to play the drums, keyboard and guitar there. He later attended Salvation Army Senior High School at Akim-Wenchi, and he grew up around Fadama, a suburb of Accra.

His rise in the late 2010s was quick. He won the Unsung award at the Ghana Music Awards in 2017 and the New Artist award in 2018. He also received the Most Promising Artist in Africa award from AFRIMA and LYNXGHANA. He was signed to Lynx Entertainment and Empire Distribution, and songs such as Angela, Wish Me Well, Ohemaa and Wa Ye Wie are among the best known in his catalogue.

In 2019 he received seven nominations at the Ghana Music Awards and won Album of the Year, Producer of the Year and Highlife Artist of the Year. At the 2020 ceremony he was crowned Artist of the Year and Highlife Artist of the Year. Few artists of his age have collected that kind of recognition, and his Producer of the Year award is a reminder that he builds many of his own sounds.

That background makes a release like Ajei easier to understand. This is an artist with a long list of awards and a catalogue full of well-known songs, yet he still puts out new work at a pace that would suit someone just starting out. The result is a body of music that keeps moving rather than resting on its past.
