Akwaboah Odo Ankasa, the new song featuring Kwesi Arthur, arrived on 16 October 2026 and gives fans another strong clue about what to expect from his much anticipated Lighthouse album. Few Ghanaian artists have been as busy this year as Akwaboah, and this release lands at the end of a rollout that has been building for months.
The song carries the name Odo Ankasa (feat. Kwesi Arthur), with Akwaboah as the lead artist and Kwesi Arthur as the guest. Akwaboah Music is the label behind it. It went up on the singer’s official YouTube channel on the day of release as Akwaboah Ft Kwesi Arthur – Odo Ankasa, so fans can watch and hear it straight from the source.
The pairing is the first thing people will talk about. Akwaboah has built a catalogue on warm, melodic songs, and Kwesi Arthur brings a different voice to the same record. Two Ghanaian names sharing one track is the kind of news that travels quickly from WhatsApp groups to radio shows, and this one has the same pull.
Akwaboah himself puts highlife next to the song when he shares it, while the rhythm sits close to the Afrobeats sound that Ghanaian listeners know from their playlists. My own suggestion is to ignore the labels and follow how the guitar, the drums and the two voices move together. That tells you more about where the song belongs than any category does.
The release is also tied to the Lighthouse project. Akwaboah points fans toward the album as he shares the song, which makes Odo Ankasa a step on the way to something bigger and not a loose single dropped without context.
Kwesi Arthur is the newest guest in that line. His presence gives the song a second audience from the first day, since his own followers will want to hear what he does on an Akwaboah record. For Akwaboah, it is another case of bringing in a partner whose style is not a copy of his own.
Akwaboah Odo Ankasa and the road to Lighthouse
The recent run explains why this release matters. Akwaboah has been putting out music at a steady pace since the start of the year, and each release has added a piece to the Lighthouse picture.
On 13 February he shared the visualiser for You Know, a collaboration with Sarkodie. A month later, on 13 March, came Akwaboah, the Lighthouse Intro, made with Nana Asaase. It carries the artist’s own name, and as an introduction it set the mood for the project.
Then the focus turned to football. On 20 March he released Same Same, a World Cup 2026 themed song, timed for the tournament that Ghanaian fans have been counting down to. We covered that release when it came out, and you can read our Akwaboah Same Same post for the details.
Work Before You Marry followed on 31 July and put a very different subject in front of listeners. On 30 August he returned with Helping Hand, a collaboration with Zac Celinder. Then on 9 October came Pressure, which arrived as an official music video.
Seen in order, the pattern is clear. Pressure landed on 9 October and Odo Ankasa followed exactly one week later, on 16 October. Two releases in seven days points to an artist who wants momentum behind him as the album gets closer, and who is happy to keep his audience busy with new music in the meantime.
That pace also shows range. A Sarkodie collaboration, a Nana Asaase introduction, a football anthem, a song about marriage, a track with Zac Celinder and now one with Kwesi Arthur. Each one asks the listener to pay attention to a slightly different side of Akwaboah, and Lighthouse looks set to hold them together.
It is worth looking at who he has chosen to work with. Sarkodie, Nana Asaase, Zac Celinder and Kwesi Arthur come from different corners of the scene, and none of them sounds like the others. That variety gives the Lighthouse run a shape. Each guest opens a door to listeners who might not have followed Akwaboah closely before.
Plenty of artists release a single and then go quiet for months. Akwaboah has done the opposite. Seven releases between February and October, with the newest two a week apart, make Akwaboah Odo Ankasa feel like part of a continuing story and not an isolated moment.
For listeners who want to catch up, the order above is a fair way to do it. Start with the Lighthouse Intro, move through You Know and Same Same, then add Work Before You Marry and Helping Hand, and finish with Pressure and Odo Ankasa. Played back to back, they show how the project has been put together piece by piece.
To watch the song, go to Akwaboah’s official YouTube channel, where it is posted under his name alongside Pressure and his other recent uploads. To follow his releases, use his Spotify artist page or his Apple Music artist page.
The Lighthouse album has its own stream link, which Akwaboah shares with every new release. Check it as the project gets closer, because that is where the album will be easiest to find once it is out.
Akwaboah also keeps active pages on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, and he points fans to them with each upload. They are a sensible place to look if you want the next announcement as soon as it happens.
If you have already listened, tell us what you make of Akwaboah and Kwesi Arthur together. Say whether Odo Ankasa tops Pressure for you, share the song with a friend, and leave your thoughts in the comments. We will keep following the Lighthouse story as it unfolds, and you can stream Akwaboah Odo Ankasa again while you wait for the next release.
