Efya Nokturnal Wedding: Efya Marries Nigerian Singer Tomi Thomas in Traditional Ceremony in Accra

Ghanaian singer Efya, also known as Efya Nokturnal, is now a married woman. The award-winning songstress, born Jane Awindor, married Nigerian musician Tomi Thomas at a traditional wedding in Accra on Friday, 6 November 2026.

The ceremony brought together family, friends and some of the best-known faces in Ghanaian showbiz. According to YEN.com.gh, the customary rites were performed under the guidance of both families, with the event blending Ghanaian and Nigerian culture.

Efya wore a kente ensemble for the occasion, while Tomi Thomas also arrived in kente with gold accessories, Pulse Ghana reported. Guests were treated to vows, a first dance and a mix of Afrobeats and highlife.

One of the moments that got people talking was the entrance of Efya’s mother, Nana Adwoa Awindor. Pulse Ghana reports that she was visibly emotional as she walked in while her daughter’s music played. From February rumours to a November wedding

This is not the first time Efya’s marriage has made headlines this year. On Valentine’s Day, 14 February 2026, videos from a private event at a residence in Trassaco Phase II, Accra, went viral, and some outlets reported that Efya and Tomi Thomas had married.

Efya’s management quickly set the record straight. They told GhanaWeb that the videos came from an after-party following a knocking ceremony, not a wedding. In the words of the team, “The family has not concluded the process.”

Friday’s traditional wedding now completes that process. Pulse Ghana described it as another major milestone for the couple, who had their knocking ceremony earlier in the year.

Who is Efya’s husband, Tomi Thomas?
